Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Katie Byrd was born and raised in Mobile, Alabama. She received her undergraduate degree in Biomedical Science at Troy University in 2020. During these four years, Dr. Byrd spent her time working as a veterinary assistant at a small animal practice in her hometown. Dr. Byrd received her veterinary degree from Auburn University in 2024. During her clinical studies at Auburn University, Dr. Byrd was able to gain veterinary experience in multiple places including Alaska and Montana.
Dr. Byrd visited Greenville, South Carolina during her studies at Auburn University and fell in love with the city and decided to move here after graduation. Dr. Byrd is excited to start her veterinarian journey with Haywood Road Animal Hospital.
Her special interests include dermatology, surgery, and neurology. Dr. Byrd also has a passion for feline medicine and providing pleasant, stress-free visits for her feline patients. Dr. Byrd shares her home with an active, wild tuxedo cat named Ahsoka and her sister, a shy, calm white cat named Alaska. During her free time, Dr. Byrd enjoys hiking, traveling, singing, and visiting local coffee shops.
